Charmel is a high-end custom single-family residence in Pacific Palisades, designed as a contemporary hillside home that emphasizes privacy, natural light, and a strong connection to the site. The architecture uses clean horizontal volumes, light concrete and stucco surfaces, dark metal framing, expansive glazing, and restrained landscape elements to create a refined modern palette. The spatial concept is organized around a sequence of terraces, water features, and stepped outdoor spaces that follow the slope and extend the living areas into the landscape. A key design challenge was integrating the residence into the hillside while maintaining a low-profile street presence, efficient circulation, and generous daylight. The result is a sophisticated Pacific Palisades home with calm geometry, layered outdoor spaces, and a seamless relationship between architecture and terrain.
