Gardner 540 is a high-end custom single-family residence in the City of LA, designed around seamless indoor-outdoor living and a strong connection between the home, garden, and pool. The architecture combines smooth concrete and stucco surfaces with warm wood soffits and decking, dark metal framing, expansive glazing, and glass railings to create a refined contemporary material palette. Large sliding openings extend the main living spaces directly onto the terrace and pool area, while upper-level balconies and a rooftop terrace add layered outdoor spaces and views. A key design challenge was maximizing openness, daylight, and outdoor living within a compact urban residential site while maintaining privacy from neighboring properties. The result is a sophisticated Los Angeles residence where architecture, landscape, and everyday living are closely integrated.
