Kimridge is a high-end custom single-family residence in the City of Los Angeles, designed for a hillside setting with a warm contemporary architectural language that emphasizes simplicity, natural materials, and a strong connection to the landscape. The exterior combines smooth light stucco, natural stone, rich horizontal wood cladding, dark-framed glazing, and integrated planting to create a refined and welcoming material palette. The spatial concept uses a low, horizontal composition that follows the site while organizing living spaces around natural light, privacy, and direct connections to landscaped outdoor areas. A key design challenge was integrating the residence into the hillside while maintaining a calm street presence and balancing openness with privacy. The result is a sophisticated Los Angeles home defined by warm materials, clean geometry, and a sensitive relationship to its natural setting.
