Tigertail 1000 is a high-end custom single-family residence in the hillside, designed to respond to a sloping hillside site through layered contemporary volumes and strong horizontal roof forms. The architecture combines smooth light stucco, textured stone accents, warm wood detailing, dark-framed windows, and restrained landscaping to create a refined modern material palette. The spatial concept steps the residence with the terrain, organizing living spaces across multiple levels while using terraces, overhangs, and carefully positioned openings to capture natural light and views. A key design challenge was integrating a substantial residential program into the hillside while maintaining privacy, efficient circulation, and a balanced street presence. The result is a sophisticated Los Angeles home with clean geometry and a strong relationship to its site.
