Ventura is a high-end custom single-family residence designed for a quiet hillside setting, with an architectural concept centered on privacy, simplicity, and a close relationship to the natural landscape. The residence uses low horizontal volumes, smooth concrete and stucco surfaces, dark-framed glazing, and restrained detailing to create a calm, minimalist material palette. The spatial concept organizes living areas around large openings and framed views, allowing natural light to enter the home while preserving a strong sense of enclosure and privacy. A key design challenge was integrating the residence around the existing mature trees and irregular hillside conditions without disrupting the character of the site. The result is a refined hillside home that feels grounded, understated, and carefully connected to its surroundings.
